Designers frequently rely on Photoshop templates or advanced 3D software to showcase their work, but these methods are time-consuming, inflexible, and often require technical expertise. Existing solutions lack real-time editing, customization, and accessible 3D rendering. Brand Craft solves this by offering an intuitive browser-based mockup tool that empowers designers to visualize their work on 3D products—faster, easier, and more creatively.
Overview
Helping designers skip Photoshop and instantly visualize their work in 3D.
I led product strategy, UX research, and full product design for Brand Craft—a web-based 3D mockup tool that lets designers create high-quality, customizable mockups in minutes. From cups to packaging, users can upload their designs, tweak lighting and materials, and export presentation-ready visuals without the complexity of traditional tools
My Role
Defined the product strategy for Brand Craft’s v1 launch
Conducted user interviews and concept validation with designers
Designed the 3D mockup builder interface and user flow
Created the landing page to drive early traction and signups
Worked closely with a developer to balance flexibility with simplicity
The Problem
Mockups are essential for designers to showcase their work—but creating them is time-consuming, technical, and often dependent on Photoshop templates or complex 3D software. Many designers waste hours tweaking scenes just to get a usable asset for client presentations or portfolios.
Brand Craft was built to simplify that process: No downloads. No rendering engines. Just fast, beautiful mockups—all in the browser.
Designing the Tool
I focused on a clean, distraction-free canvas paired with an intuitive right-hand panel for all controls:
Product Picker: Select from templates like cups, boxes, or bottles
Design Upload: Drag & drop your artwork, with real-time preview
Appearance Controls: Adjust material, rotation, roughness, metallic feel
High-Resolution Export: Output final visuals in up to 3000x1000px
Performance: Optimized to feel smooth and fast—even with no 3D experience
We also added presets like “Glass,” “Matte,” or “Glossy” to help beginners get professional results instantly.
Landing Page & Positioning
I wrote and designed the landing page to speak directly to our target users—frustrated designers who are tired of flat mockups or tedious edits.
Next Steps
With v1 launched, we’re already planning:
More product templates (t-shirts, tote bags, packaging)
Custom lighting and environment settings
Animation exports (GIFs, short videos)
Collaboration features and brand kits
Plugin for Figma and Adobe XD
What I Learned
Designing a tool like Brand Craft taught me how to balance usability with creative freedom. I had to make 3D editing accessible to non-technical users without oversimplifying. I also saw how the smallest UI decisions—like default product rotation or how upload previews work—can significantly affect user trust and efficiency.
